What's it about?
Gary, a neurotic middle-aged bear, and his independent-minded daughter Blossom have been forced to leave their much-loved urban home after the citizens of Wolverhampton tired of having their bins raided for food. Maverick environmentalist Morag has rescued them and brought them to her experimental Rewilding Zone deep in the English countryside.
But there's trouble in store. Gary, a vegetarian, isn't prepared to fulfil the ecological role Morag has assigned him of eating his way through the exploding deer population. After making friends with Sasha, a beaver, Blossom is developing a worrying passion for dangerous pranks. Gary's fervent freeganism brings him into conflict with the local waste-collection authorities. Their little family doesn't quite feel complete without Blossom's mysteriously absent Mum. And there's a giant datacentre under construction in the Zone whose owner, Sir Everett Deverill, seems to exert a sinister hold over Morag.
Nevertheless, with their diverse community of warm-blooded friends, Blossom and Gary are starting to become part of the landscape. The question is, can they find their purpose within it?
